BALI HAI BREWERY INDONESIA FOUNDED
The history of Bali Hai Brewery Indonesia saw Indonesia’s brewing landscape within this year. The name “Bali Hai” came across as an inspiration from a song in South Pacific musical; which by most critics, was also considered greatest musicals of the 20th century.
DRAFT BEER RELEASED
The first batch of Draft Beer hit the market. The beer is also known as session pale lager; a no-frills drink which can be enjoyed anytime anywhere.
BALI HAI PREMIUM RELEASED
Bali Hai Premium first released. A prestigious premium Munich lager with uniquely full flavor and smooth-satisfying drinking experience. This has put Bali Hai Premium as the first Munich lager in Indonesia.
FIRST OVERSEAS EXPORT
This year marked Bali Hai Brewery Indonesia’s first Asian export. Among the first countries are Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan.
PANTHER STOUT RELEASED
Panther Stout was born. The beer made with high quality imported European roasted malts and hops.
EL DIABLO ORIGINAL RELEASED
Following El Diablo 12% ABV for export release in 2011, Bali Hai Brewery Indonesia launched El Diablo Original for the Indonesian market, marking the milestone as the first Belgian golden ale in Indonesia, as well as first canned beer in 500ml size.
World Beer Association awarded Draft Beer a world-class appreciation as Asia’s Best Low Carb.
New brewery and expansion project commenced, incorporating the latest technology and brewing establishments in the brewing process.
PANTHER BLACK RELEASED
Inspired by AC/DC’s rock song “Back in Black,” Bali Hai Brewery Indonesia relaunched Panther Stout into Panther Black in Munich Dunkel lager style; as well as marking the record as first beer in Indonesia brewed with four different malts.
Brewing beer is about controlling the process from all four ingredients; malts, water, hops, and yeast. Water makes up the most significant percentage of beer. Therefore the quality of the water is essential to the overall quality of the brew. The malts and hops we are using to brew beer are all imported from Europe, and yeast makes the brewing party happened.
During the brewing process, malts are cracked to expose the starch inside and mixed with hot water to be converted as fermentable sugar. This sweet liquid called ‘wort’ is now boiled, then hops are added to season the brew and balance the sweetness. When the hot wort already cool, yeast added and the final liquid fermented from 21 – 28 days to convert them into a great-tasting beer.
