Establisment of UNICAN

It started in 1981, with the establisment of Unican Surya Agung (UNICAN) by a brother and sister, Harsono Pangjaya and Susylia Sukana.

UNICAN opened it first factory in Kapuk, Kamal Raya, North Jakarta, with only few employees.

Cola Candy

UNICAN struggled deeply to market its product in the first 7 years (1981-1988). At the brink of facing bankruptcy. Mrs. Susylia was introduced yo Mr. Tokiyori Iwai, a Japanesse candy expert, who then helped to create a legendary formula of the Cola Candy, the first carbonated candy in Indonesia which served as the foundation of UNICAN's success.

Second Factory

Following the success of cola candy, UNICAN established a second factory in Cikande, Serang. This second factory has a total area of 70.000㎡.
